		<title><![CDATA[How can I reduce humidity?]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[Humidity can be reduced in three ways.<br><BR>

1.  Dehumidifier/AC - this is the best option as it's completely controllable.  The downside is that dehumidifer's create heat, use lots of electricity, and take up space.<BR><BR>

2.  Desiccants - are hygroscopic substances that absorb water.  For our purposes, a desiccant will be absorbing the humidity in the air.  Desiccants are a poor choice because they need to be replaced often and the rate of absorbtion is only a function of exposed surface area of the dessicant rendering the use of desiccants in the growroom largely uncontrollable.  While desccants are cheap intially, repeated usage and purchases will eventually become expensive.<BR> Silica gel, calcium sulfate, and montmorillonite clay are commonly used desiccants.<BR><BR>

3.  Air Movement/ventilation - Air movement is a great choice to reduce humidity especally if the relative humidity outside your growroom is low.  If this is the case, adding active intake and exhaust (if you do not already have this) will reduce your humidity relatively cheaply and effectively.  In addition, most growers must use ventilation irregardless of RH issues to control temperatures.  The only downside to ventilation occurs in sealed environments where direct ventilation is not feasible  because of the use of co2 enrichment.RH.<BR><BR>]]></description>
