US Presidential Candidate Responses to Questions Regarding Medical Marijuana

In a nutshell
When given the opportunity to do so, only Obama and Edwards said that, under their administrations, the Justice Department will stop prosecuting medical marijuana in states where it is legal. Clinton stated that marijuana should not be decriminalized.

Dr. Ron Paul, MD, has taken a giant step beyond any other candidate, stating "I would absolutely never use the federal government to enforce the law against anybody using marijuana." He arrives at this position not only from a doctor's understanding of the legitimate medical uses of marijuana, but also from the constructionist view that the federal government is not empowered by the Constitution to conduce the "War on Drugs"; and that drug policy is under the US Constitution a power reserved to the states and the people.

The remaining Republicans are not only against medical marijuana, but refuse to even acknowledge that the DEA is daily conducting raids on medical marijuana patients and care providers in states where it is legal.

In an election cycle where the buzzword has become change, and even dyed-in-the-wool conservatives profess to embrace change, it seems that few in the mainstream political machine are willing to face the fact that the War on Drugs is an unmitigated failure, and do omething to change it!

Help stop Marc Emery's extradition to the US

Whatever your perspective on Marc's personality or the means he uses, he is and has been a powerful advocate for the legalization of marijuana and he deserves all of our support. He has stuck his neck out there quite publicly and has provided many thousands of dollars in contributions to legalization efforts throughout the world. Whether he has profited form his efforts and risk is not really relevant to the extradition process IMO.

Canadians ought to contact their government and press. Here is Marc's No extradition site for contact info.

I am not sure what we can do in the US at this point. I am looking into that. Besides the inanity of this pursuit in general-- I am pissed at the money the US government is spending in this process and want to figure out the best place to complain. At minimum, we can contact the US house judiciary committee, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security and the Senate Judiciary Committee, Crime and Drugs subcomittee each of who have oversight of the DEA.

Recovery of the Overgrow GrowFAQ

Almost 2 weeks ago one of the great Marijuana Cultivation Resources available on the Internet went dark. Overgrow.com was home to the finest Marijuana GrowFAQ available on the Internet and it too went dark with its host. Fortunately, Google had a decent cache of the Overgrow GrowFAQ data, minus the images. I�ve created a series of scripts to retrieve as much of this data as possible from the Google Cache.

Due to the complexities of some of the GrowFAQ records, a portion of the FAQ was simply unrecoverable using my programming skills. However, I am confident that I have recovered more than 3/4ths of the OG GrowFAQ. It�s important to remember that the recovery was limited to the data that Google had stored in its cache. I found this cached data to be full of duplicate entries and partial HTML pages which I was unable to retrieve.

I am now making the entire 524 recovered GrowFAQ entries publicly available to anyone who wishes to download them. I have made the entire GrowFAQ available as a single XML document available for download by clicking here (2,430 KB). If you are not familiar with XML or simply do not wish to duplicate the entire GrowFAQ you can find each individual entry listed here at growfaq.marijuana.com. I will be turning this over to the administration of HempCultivation.Com for further development and image replacement.

You will find that this GrowFAQ environment has several features that allow you to save information that you believe valuable. You can save each individual FAQ as a PDF file, XML file or simply print it out. You may comment on each individual faq to give further information or advice as well as rate each faq for its usefulness.

It is my hope that we can pick up where OG left off and keep this document alive for everyone to share. Help us grow the faq by asking a question or by answering one left by a visitor. This FAQ is what you make of it � there�s a solid foundation to build upon here.
